Ans. He was born on December 31st and spoke about it on January 1st. [The day before yesterday (December 30) he was 25. He turned 26 on December 31. He talked about it on January 1. That year he would turn 27, so "next year" he would turn 28.]

However, d wine nd barrels must be split so dat each son has d same no. of full barrels, the same no. of half-full barrels nd d same no. of empty barrels. Note dat there r no measuring devices handy. How can d barrels nd wine b evenly divided?

Ans. 2 half-full barrels are dumped into one of d empty barrels. 2 more half-full barrels r dumped into another one of d empty barrels. This results in 9 full barrels, 3 half-full barrels, and 9 empty barrels. Each son gets 3 full barrels, 1 half-full barrel, and 3 empty barrels!!
